What We Do
Running for Jason was created to honor the sacrifice of SSgt Jason Rogers, a native of Brandon, MS. SSgt Rogers is a Marine that was killed in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan April 7, 2011. Running for Jason’s organizers, Lindsey Lemmons and Lindsey Murphy, first ran the Marine Corps Marathon in 2011 in memory of SSgt. Jason A. Rogers and raised more than $5,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project. There is an annual 5K in Jason's memory held in Brandon, Afghanistan, and Camp McCain. Running for Jason provides donations to various other charities and programs, with a focus on the Brandon area.
